Apartment Interior Design Project, 86 m², Kyiv

Interior design project for an 86 m² apartment in Kyiv: a living and dining room, a child's room with a bed under a loft, a stair to the second level. The stair was moved to the centre. Oak treads cantilever out and each one carries recessed light. There are no posts underneath. The base is a marble podium lit along its edge. In the child's room the bed sits under the loft and the drawers went into its podium, so the floor stayed clear. Walls there are upholstered in orange. In the living room curtains run from the ceiling. The kitchen island is clad in light stone. The top runs down to the floor and the plinth is lit, so the island seems to float above the parquet. The hallway has herringbone oak and a light line set into the door reveal. The bedroom walls are oak panels with two strips of dark marble. The bathroom is terrazzo, with wood-pattern tile on the shower wall. There is no shower tray: the shower floor continues the room floor. The washer and dryer stand in a column inside the walk-in wardrobe, so no separate laundry room was needed.
